In the Musical

Jefferson is a delegate from Virginia and is described as being very quiet and studious. He was chosen by Adams to replace Richard Henery Lee on the Declaration committee, seconded by Franklin. He is chosen to write the Declaration. After a week's time, Adams checks back at Jefferson's Philidelphia home, but Jefferson wasn't able to give Adams a finished version of the Declaration.
